In 2020, Energia Przykona completed a project of a photovoltaic power plant with a total capacity of 600MW in the Wielkopolska Province (Przykona Project). It is the first such a large installation in Central Europe and one of the largest on the Old Continent. The investment will providegeneration capacity of 600 MW, which will translate into an annual electricity production of 630 GWh.
The construction is planned on the area of eastern Wielkopolska, on land degraded by mining activity. Ultimately, the whole investment will be responsible for the production of about 3% of energy generated from RES in Poland. Due to the production capacity and the possibility of effective energy production in the summer, the complex will have a significant impact on the capacity of the power system in the period of increased demand for electricity.
