In 2020, Energia Przykona completed a project of a photovoltaic power plant with a total capacity of 600MW in the Wielkopolska Province (Przykona Project). It is the first such a large installation in Central Europe and one of the largest on the Old Continent. The investment will providegeneration capacity of 600 MW, which will translate into an annual electricity production of 630 GWh. The construction is planned on the area of eastern Wielkopolska, on land degraded by mining activity. Ultimately, the whole investment will be responsible for the production of about 3% of energy generated from RES in Poland. Due to the production capacity and the possibility of effective energy production in the summer, the complex will have a significant impact on the capacity of the power system in the period of increased demand for electricity.
The power station design will include the necessary electrical infrastructure and access roads. The resulting PV power station will become the largest photovoltaic installation in Central Europe. Energia Przykona is currently implementing other large-scale photovoltaic projects in other regions of Poland.
The photovoltaic power plant project carried out by Energia Przykona will significantly contribute to support the fulfilment of Poland's accession commitments under the Polish Energy Policy until 2030. It will also have a great impact on the achievement of the Europe 2020 Strategy objectives.
The project will have many positive effects for the province, the municipality and the whole local community, not only thanks to additional tax revenues.
Energia Przykona is currently developing the largest wind power station project in Poland in the Opolskie Province, located within 8 municipalities, with a total planned capacity to connect 711MW. The project includes wind turbines with a capacity of 2.5MW to 5MW and total height of 190 - 210m. Completion of the design phase and obtaining the status of readiness for construction is planned for 2022. The investment will provide generation capacity of 711MW, which will translate into electricity production of about 2.4 TWh per year, thus becoming the largest generation source in Poland consolidated in one area and one of the largest in Europe. The investment will allow the largest industrial plants in the south of Poland to be supplied with green energy and will have a significant impact on the reduction of CO2 emissions in the whole country.
